Jesus rebuked it. Doubt in the dictionary means to 'distrust.' I do believe questioning, which is different than doubt, is very healthy in our relationship with the Lord. Every man and woman in the Bible questioned God. To ask and cry out when we don't understand is what God wants from us. When we do that it's because we trust He has the answer.

Thanks for stopping by and for your thought-provoking comment Laura. We have to be careful we don't reject something just because we don't understand it. The Holy Spirit will give us understanding in His time. God's Word is perfect for us and I'm learning that the most uncomfortable passages were written for me too and I need to be humble and take them in. I'm also learning that every warning in the Bible was written in love.

Your example makes me sad. I've been thinking a lot about that '50 shades' book and movie lately and how destructive it is to so many women and girls. To think of love that way is so twisted and perverted of the real thing. I pray women and girls would find true love in Christ.

Thanks for your comment Aimee!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13105571098810204461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8642167378367548721.post-89514033596263557332015-02-14T10:29:32.874-08:002015-02-14T10:29:32.874-08:00So true. Our faith can really be strengthened when we doubt and then figure things out for ourselves rather than relying on the words of others. I understand what you're saying here...we need to trust Jesus with all of our heart. Doubt can be a part of the growing process, though. There is so much wishy washy beliefs and we need to start right back at the beginning and truly believe that the world was created in 6 days and on the 7th God rested instead of trying to analyise it any other way. If we have trouble believing the first bit we are going to have trouble believing the rest. Thanks for sharing this great post at Good Morning Mondays. I live in Australia and Christians are in the minority for sure. Lots of churches have tried to modernise to get the numbers, but in doing so have watered down God's Word.
