"The law was given to lead the unbeliever to her Savior, not for the believer to try to keep it." Emily P. Freeman
"But now a righteousness from God,
apart from the law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe."
Romans 3:21-22
Yes, I like this thought, thanks. That is why I am writing the book series on the Ten Commandments, not to keep or obey the law, but to fulfill it... because LOVE is the fulfillment of the law.
ReplyDeleteHappy week!
I agree...there is so much freedom in knowing Jesus fulfilled the law!
DeleteThis is so true!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Emily P. Freeman's book, Grace For the Good Girl! I hope you enjoyed it, too. : )
I'm half way through...reading it slowly and savoring each chapter. Such a wonderful book. So glad I read your review and picked it up! I'll probably be writing a post about it when I'm done. :)
DeleteCathy, I just wanted to stop and say how this post blessed me. Your blog is a restful, peaceful place! And it doesn't hurt that I see Michelle here, too:) Am wondering if you've read much of George Whitefield? Somehow I think you probably have. I think you'd like him very much, if not. Bless you.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for your kind and encouraging words Laura! I've read a little about George Whitefield, but nothing by him. I'd like to though!
DeleteThanks for stopping by. :)
